Challenge
The engineering team at Keyser wanted to build an application that could process and display suspension travel data sent from a hardware sensor. They had a beta version from a previous developer but needed a technology partner to come in and modernize what they had to create a more accessible, cleaner product that racers and their crew would be happy using. Solutions
After reviewing the beta application, the SharpQuest team listened to the goals and requirements of the Keyser engineering team. SharpQuest used an Agile approach to design and develop the application while receiving and implementing feedback from Keyser.
Kyle Kampenga, a Mechanical Engineer at Keyser noted, “Throughout each phase of the project, the SharpQuest project manager coordinated the efforts of the local hardware developer and several offshore team members, ensuring that every task was completed in a timely manner.” Kampenga was also pleased with the partnership to create the best outcome saying, “They also provided us with product insights and feedback regarding new ideas to be implemented.”

Keyser Manufacturing
SharpQuest developed a native Android app using Android SDK and Java to receive the data from the race car shock absorbers and visualize it in a chart format on mobile devices. They incorporated Bluetooth wireless protocol in the product to facilitate the transfer of data from the hardware sensor. Additionally, SharpQuest added functionality to allow for the platform to process millions of data points of information and produce readable charts and graphs.

Outcomes
The initial launch of the app to existing customers was very successful. Kampenga shared, “Customer feedback from our product launch has been overwhelmingly positive, and sales have started to increase. We've also been able to avoid major bugs and flaws, which is huge considering the complexity of the project.”
Looking back on the project, Kampenga was very pleased with how smoothly it went. “We had a great working relationship with the SharpQuest team. Their workflow and scheduling made the whole process simple and straightforward. The way they laid out the entire project made for smooth development of the product, and their team was quick to build features and resolve issues.”
Kampenga went on to state that, “SharpQuest met, and more often than not, exceeded all of our expectations.”
